The Glaskasten GKI model train display case for 1:32 models (1 scale) is now available in our webshop.

After successful introduction of the Glaskasten 0-scale display case, we are about to take our 1-scale display cabinet, the GKI, in to production. This next step in scale has the same design and high level of finish as the existing Glaskasten GK, GKN and GKO model train display cases for H0, N, Z and 0 scale, with a basic module of 1.2 m wide by 73 cm tall. The GKI display case provides space for 3 shelves of 1:32 model trains of any gauge.

The GKI 1-scale display case also employs the unique Glaskasten Modular System with the same basic module size of 1.2 m by 73 cm. Large display walls can be created by extending the basic module width in 60 cm steps. Of course the height can also be increased by mounting a second row of modules above, resulting in a 6-shelve display cabinet.

GKI display cases can optionally be fitted with integrated high-quality LED light to illuminate each train individually. A new feature in the GKI display cases is TrackLight which provides upward lighting in the bottom of each shelf, illuminating the lower side of the models. This allows you to enjoy the details around the wheels and connecting rods of your precious models as illustrated in the photo above where the top shelf is fitted with TrackLight and the bottom shelf is not. Other options are powered track, dimming and door locks.

The photo shows a prototype of the base 1.2m module. Production will commence soon, but you can already place pre-orders through our web shop to ensure your place in the delivery queue.
